In August I made the choice to seek out semaglutide, knowing that it could be a great tool for me. I stumbled across prescription weight loss and set up for a 12 week regimen. The process is slow. It’s not like I took a couple doses and dropped 20#. What I did see was my appetite drop, my energy levels rise and with every week and every pound released I saw progress that I had not seen before.
By November I had released 15#. I was walking 1.5-2.5 miles daily, I was sleeping better, and I saw my confidence returning. I had made significant changes to my diet and movement as well as using the semaglutide.
Of course with the holidays and the indulgence (especially while traveling), I was worried. What I saw was the changes I made were in fact CHANGES that were conscious and doable. While I allowed myself to enjoy the trip I was mindful. I came back +3 pounds but within a week I’ve dropped those (likely water retention from lots of 🥂🍺🍷) plus another pound to put my total released at 24#!!!
I know this is not for everyone. It’s not a decision to be made lightly. Personally I had no side effects except a bit of acid reflux in the first 4 weeks, but I know as with any medication there can be issues.
This is a TOOL for me. I have no intention of using it long term. I’m posting because I just want to be honest, open, share my journey and maybe help someone that is struggling and wondering if this could be a tool for them too.
Whatever you chose do it for YOU!! It’s not about society, or being “skinny” or some ideal created on the airbrushed pages of a magazine or social media. It’s about you, your health, your mental health, your confidence, your happiness.
